Howelsen Hill Ski Area has 15 downhill skiing runs based off of four lifts and tows, with a vertical drop of 440 feet, along with a snowboard terrain park and over 13 miles of cross-country ski trails. Its impressive natural ski jump area is the largest on the continent, serving as the training site for numerous Olympic competitors. The oldest continuously running ski mountain in the state, it is located next to the Howelsen Ice Arena across the Yampa River from town.
Open, weather permitting, Dec - Mar: Mon. noon - 6:00 p.m.; Tue., Thurs. and Fri. noon - 8:00 p.m.; Wed. and Sat 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.; Sun. 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Adults $15; Seniors (60+) and Youth (7-18) $10; Children (6 and under) $5; Night ski, Terrain area and Nordic ski $7.50.
